About Us
Evelyn Spencer-CEO/Travel ConsultantRaised and born in New York and came in contact with people who liked to travel a lot. Growing up as both my parents had their own businesses. My Mother, being a Milliner, her clients consisted of high power people such as the owner of the 21 Club in New York, her father my Grandfather was in show business and was Al Jolson's band leader which allowed him to travel most of the year. My Dad, a jeweler and some of his clients show people such as Perry Como. They all talked about their travels and I got the bug early on. I would go to my Mother's friend travel agency to plan my family next trip... The rest I have to say is history. I started out in high school. Over the years I bare boated 95% of the Caribbean myself. I know it like the back of my hand. We did travel a lot to Europe over the years, since my Dad was born in Italy. In September of 1990 after working in New York and for a few years around the Pennsylvania area I took the plunge and purchased Chadds Ford Travel, In 1991 I was featured as the business person to watch. For several years I taught Travel at The Travel School in Wilmington Delaware. In 2000 I became a Tahiti Tiare Specialist (Maeva!) of which there are only a few of us on the east coast. One destination I truly enjoy traveling to even with the 12 1/2 hour flight non-stop out of JFK. I am very involved with Caribbean Tourism and am on the executive board for the greater Philadelphia area, which allows me to attend Conferences, one of which was in the fall 2007 in Puerto Rico. I have been in the past involved with the Pacific Asia Tourism Board and served on their Executive Board for 6 years, allowing me knowledge of the Pacific Asia area. It allowed me to travel to the area. I was privileged to be invited by the government of Thailand to check into the after math of the affect by the Tsunami. Two other highlights of my travels over the years included being invited to Buckingham Palace for tea with Queen, and second I was able to attend the opening of Princess Diana's Spencer's family home/grave at Althorp a year after her passing which was very moving for us since my husband is in the same family Spencer line. I have been to most continents. I am always pursuing continuing education and certification, along with first-hand experience. There is nothing better then to say been there, done it! Which is our motto! For example I have been to Tahiti six times now. I have been told by our clients that after I have talked with them they have felt they been there already. We have arranged so many destination wedding and honeymoons at this time, we feel we could arrange one in our sleep. Because of the volume of business we do, we are able to pass the deals onto our clients along with the personalize service that can't otherwise be offered, not to mention our hours are by appointment only that offers convenience, which are made up of many hours of conference calls Destinations.
